Our Mission
Uplift Milford provides local families with short-term support to prevent long-term hardship.
We provide financial support to help stabilize families facing crisis, financial difficulty or other challenges meeting their basic needs. Our proactive approach ensures that immediate needs are met, reducing stress and preventing further hardship. Through this support, we foster resilience, strengthen our community, and give families the opportunity to regain stability and thrive.

Introducing the Harbor Shed @ Harbor High School
The Harbor Shed is the newest addition to Uplift Milford’s efforts to support students across the district. Just like our original Mav Shed at Milford High School, this dedicated space is stocked with essentials such as toiletries, clothing, snacks, and school supplies—all available to students who may find themselves in need.
Whether it’s a forgotten item, an unexpected circumstance, or ongoing family challenges, the Harbor Shed ensures that no student has to go without the basics that help them feel prepared and confident at school. Operated by Uplift Milford and sustained through generous community donations, the Harbor Shed represents the spirit of care and connection that defines our district.
By providing these resources without stigma, the Harbor Shed removes barriers, nurtures well-being, and fosters a school environment where every student can thrive.
This season, we’re coming together as a community to lift up our neighbors in need.
If you know a Milford or Highland family who could use extra support right now, we invite you to share their story.
Two nominated families will be selected to receive assistance (up to $2,500 each) toward essential bills such as rent, utilities, or other critical expenses — with payments made directly to service providers.
All nominations are for someone else, and every story will remain confidential. Thank you for helping us spread care and compassion throughout our community.
